Beyond your Plate
Is there enough meat in the world? Is meat an efficient source of energy? How many kilos of food does it take to produce a kilo of steak? Where does the land come from to grow food for animals in factories? Is there’s enough milk in the world? An industry at the height of its production what would portions look like if every person in the world was given an equal share?
At Phi we believe it’s time to change our approach to food. There is far too much pressure put on the meat industry to produce large quantity of low-cost meat. And this is having a huge ethically negative effect. At Phi we wanted to create a different mindset when we approach a menu. That the focus is on a plant-based meal with a low amount of animal protein.
Any meat we use is of high quality from free range organic farms to wild natural habitats. For plants that we will focus seasonality and we will be incorporating fermentation techniques to give the meals some depth of flavour while also promoting good bacteria necessary for a healthy diet. By the fundamental philosophy of Phi the meals are going to be highly nutritious however there will be no holding back on the flavour.
Our aim is not to convert people to a plant base diet. Just to highlight the need to eat less meat. Highlight the importance of sustainable and ethical produce. For people to realise the importance of their attitude towards food. Our future begins on your plate.
